Health Camp by SIHIL

Society for Improved Health and Integrated Livelihood (SIHIL), an organization mainly comprised of young doctors organized a free health check up camp as a part of their health awareness programme at Udayna Nagar Community Field in the Dakhingaon area of Kahilipara. The health awareness cum free health check up camp was held on 14 December which was attended by people from the locality and also from some other places. It was the first initiatives by SIHIL in the area which has been welcomed by the local people. More than 200 patients got direct benefit from the health camp. The camp was attended by Dr Debajit Basumatari, Dr B Nath, and Dr A Debnath rendered their service to the people. Free medicines were distributed after the health camp on the basis of their requirements. "It is a small initiative from our side and we want to organize more of similar camps in different parts of the state to sensitise people on health issues", says Dr Debajit Basumatari, Secretary of SIHIL. Dr Basumatari also said that many people are not able to avail proper treatment due to financial constraints and SIHIL wants to help out those people so that health care reaches to all section of the society. SIHIL was established in the year 2007 to promote health awareness and health education amongst the masses of the state and region.
