Innocent killing: Unrest oozing in Sivasagar
An uneasy situation is escalating in upper Assam's Sivasagar district after an innocent youth was killed while police, army and security forces locked at an encounte with ULFA at Charaideo on Thursday afternoon.

Local residents have alleged that army killed a tea garden labourer Monglu Tati, a tea garden labourer in the encounter and have claimed him to be a hardcore ULFA militant. The agitating people have also called a 12 hour Sivasagar bandh on Monday to protest the killing of the innocent youth.

In yet another information, it is learnt that the policemen killed in the encounter were riding on the motorcycle and they have no knowledge about the encounter. All these are said to be due to lack of coordination within army, police and security forces.
