Gunbattle between police and DHD(J) near Umrangsu

Several persons feared injured at a heavy exchange of firing between police and DHD(J) rebels in North Cachar hills district on Sunday evening. According to information, the encounter is underway at at Madaodisa basti behind Binoy Cement Company under Umrangsu police station.
The encounter is taking place nearly seven hours after 3 railway protection force jawans sustained injury when DHD(J) rebels targeted a train. The incident took place at around 1 in the afternoon when armed rebels attacked a train in which the RPF personnel were traveling in with firing in between Mahur and Maidringdisa. The injured jawans have been rushed to the hospital.
