An unusual Sunday morning at press club

Guwahati Press Club, a pioneer mediamen’s organization of Northeast India witnessed an unusual Sunday morning today (June 21, 2009), when a group of journalists bared their hearts to the audience of News Live, a Guwahati based satellite Television channel.

The channel came to press club with all their arrangements to make a lively program, where journalists talked, discussed, sang, performed and danced to the tune of Bihu.

Those newsmen, who remain invisible, suddenly came out with all joy & funs and finally convinced the viewers that they too can perform. If one participant talked about the functioning of a press club, the other analyzed the genesis of a news item. They were followed by a young participant, who shared his experience inside Kaziranga, another presented a virtual cricket and football commentary. A lady journalist performed mime, which was followed by a brief magic show. At least two participants recited their own poems with the theme of media and the society. Three journalists tried their hands in music and songs. Two senior journalists arrived in the location soon after completing their jogging. Finally, ignoring the hot and humid morning sunlight, they joined in a Bihu dances, where everyone sang and danced according to their own grammar and orientation, but with the bursting enthusiasm.
