Kidnapped Tea Executive son of Ex MLA released

Guwahati : Kidnapped Tea garden executive Anirudhdha Tanti was released today near Odalguri in BTAD at about 12.30 PM. He was kidnapped on 31st July from Hirajuli Tea Garden when he was on the way to his quarter from the factory at about 11.30 PM. He is the youngest son of Ex MLA Bhimananda Tanti of Rangapara Constituency

Workshop on mental health at Sivasagar

For the benefit of mentally retarded persons an awareness camp cum workshop on mental health is going to be held at the Officers Club of Sivasagar on June 22. Deputy commissioner of Sivasagar will inaugurate the event. No change of stand on citizenship amendment: AGP

GUWAHATI:Amid a stepped up activities within BJP to get the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 cleared in Parliament, Asom Gana Parishad has reiterated that the regional party will never support it. The party decided to dispatch a delegation to the Centre to mount pressure on the NDA government to stop the deal.

In a meeting at the party headquarters in Guwahati, AGP leaders and legislators vowed to oppose the move and decided to approach all political parties for support to stop the move.
