Kohinoor Theatre ready to entertain Nagaon from January 28

The Bhogali Bihu celebration has continued in Nagaon with series of theatre groups are ready to not only entertain the local crowd but make them part of their own experience through enacting on stories based upon Assamese tradition. Just with the feel of spring season in late January month most awaited troup ‘Kohinoor Theatre’ is here in Nagaon Nehru Bali field northern end going to show 3 days with three different play beginning on 28 January’10 till 30 January evening.


The ‘Kohinoor Theatre’ team is going to unwrap Kanchan Barua’s popular narration ‘Asimat khar Heral Seema’ under the direction and theatrical translation by Hemant Dutt. Then, Sevabrat Barua story ‘Shitre Semeka Rati’ under his own direction is in pipe-line. Lastly, but not the least one in the queue is Abhijit Bhattacharya written-directed play ‘ Amai Munnai Kecha’.


So, overall the Nagaon people are definitely going to enjoy spring with multi-starrer play comprising dance, song, incident of daily life etc to bring total experience of theatre with social message in it.

The people of Nagaon recently witnessed a cultural evening on Sunday, July 19, which is purely an extravaganza offering mix of song, music, dance and play i.e; a complete cultural show encashing all form of arts in one. The evening was dedicated to Bangla poet Rabindra Nath Tagore and Assamia literature icon Bishnu Prasad Rabha on the occasion of their birth anniversaries. The evening was held in Nagaon Bangali Sammelani Audotarium to its full capacity located in the main city area of town M G Road. Most of the roads connecting Nagaon with Jagi Road, Dimapur, Tezpur are in such a dire state that travelling through these are becoming to be real nightmare for citizens. The condition of NH, SH as well as inner roads in the city is dipplated so much that two-wheeler riders are mostly who are suffering injury on account of it. The state of road in front of Sadar Thana can be eye-opener for all of us as police-men inspects vehilce in front of big pocket-holed patches in front of police station itself. But, they seldom do anything besides regular routine cheking of vehicles,because untill the road causes an accident, they are not responsible!!! On the other hand repairing of roads...
