B'deshi deportation: Govt admits difficulties

The Assam government finds it quite difficult to deport the Bangladeshi immigrants. This was what Assam Accord implementation minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman informed the Assam Assembly on Tuesday morning.


Replying to a set of questionnaires posed on the floor, Dr Barman said the BDR is quite reluctant to accept these Bangladeshi nationals in question. The House further discussed the return of at least 3900 Bangladeshi nationals after they were deported from the state.


AGP leader and Tezpur MLA Brindabon drew the attention of the House citing the deplorable infrascture of the foreigners tribunals set up to deal with these cases. In yet another reply, Dr Barman said the government lack adequate plot to rehabilitate the people affected by flood and erosion
