Improvement of Raha railway Station demanded

The Raha railway station which was set up during pre-independence period has remained in a pitiable condition for several years.The road to the station from the highway is in dilapidated condition for a long time as a result of which passengers need to carry their bags and bagages on their own causing a great deal of inconvenience.

The passengers waiting room in the station is congested having only two concrete benches inside it due to which a large number of passengers have to wait for their respective scheduled trains in the open platform.The passengers also often get wet during rainy season in particular on the eve of arrival of their scheduled train.The station is lack of generator as a result of which the passengers face troubles when light is not available during night hours.There is no safe toilet facility for the women passengers in the station.

The residents of the area alleged that though the Railway Department collects vast revenues from the passengers in the Raha railway station daily but the pathetic condition of the station has not yet improved.
