Dr Pusha Gogoi receives Sukapha award

Assam observed Sukafa Divas across the state on Thursday with a solemn vow to protect and preserve the state's age old cultural heritage. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi honoured noted scholar Dr Pushpa Gogoi the coveted Sukapha award, 2009 at a glittering function in Jorhat and promised to promote Assam age old culture. In his speech awardee Dr Gogoi said Sukapha was an institution whom the world knows. Before that Gogoi inaugurated the Sukapha project in a bid to preserve the age old culture. We have reports of Sukapha Divas celebration from other parts of the state with pomp and gaiety.
