Cultural Function of Assam by Assam Association of Mumbai

The Assam Association, Mumbai organizes a cultural
function of traditional Assamese music and dance to be
performed by reputed artists specially invited from Assam
on Sunday 23rd September 2007 at Assam Bhawan,
Vashi, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Those cultural items were
created by Sri Sri Sankardeva, the greatest cultural and
social reformer of NE India.
On this occasion, the association takes the pleasure to
invite you and your associates/journalists to make this
event a success. We shall be grateful, if you kindly grant

It was very nice to get the news about the celebration of greatest saint of Asom Srimanta Sankardev, who was the founder of basic culture and peace in Assam, which is still followed to maintain our strong history.

AGP again alleges code violation by Congress

The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad will approach the Election Commission alleging violation of model code by the ruling party in the panchayat election.Addressing a press conference in the city on Wednesday party president Brindabon Giswami said they the ruling party leaders and workers are using the government machinery in the electioneering. The Opposition Asom Gana Parishad has promised to change the face of rural Assam with thrust on roads, health, drinking water, electricity, education etc if it is voted in the upcoming panchayat polls. A Fishy Business

Hundreds of fish were found dead in Kacharighat last morning in mysterious circumstances. Zoo tiger kills visitor

In a tragic incident inside the Assam State Zoo on Wednesday a man died while a tiger attacked him while he was trying to capture its photograph with a mobile phone beside the cage.The tiger dissected his hand leaving him seriously injured. Later the person has been rushed to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

AKARSU protesters arrested

he police has arrested the striking AKARSU activist from the city on Wednesday morning. Earlier, the ailing activists have been rushed to the hospital in view of their detoriating health condition. RBI panel to suggest banking in NE

ANLA denies involvement in Beltola incident

It’s a major embarrassment for the Assam government. The adivasi outfit ANLA has categorically denied its involvement in the Beltala violence on November 24.ANLA leader Bikash Munda said the outfit is not involved in the incident in any way.While he was taken to produce in the court, the arrested ANLA leader further pleaded his ignorance when asked whether the outfit was involved in the blast on Rajdhani Express in Golaghat district.
