According to information except Bharat Narah all the members of the Tarun Gogoi cabinet have won the battle. Today’ election results till time have shown that Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Pranab Gogoi, Rokibul Hossain defeated their opposite candidates with vast difference.Mentionablre that the trio have tremendous challenges from respective candidates of opposition.Still they could show their support. On the otherhand ,AGP heavyweight as well as the party president has lost the election against the congress candidate Nilamoni Sen Deka from Dharmapur. Besides, almost all the congress sitting especially from Upper Assam could have resotred their seats. Among them Memor Gogoi (Teok), Rana Goswami (Jorhat), Rajiv Lochhan Pegu (Majuli) have won the battle with flying colours.

Professor Srinath Barooah, founder vice-chancellor of Krisnakanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), has denied allegations of financial and other irregularities, leveled against him by his former colleagues. In a horrifying development, a poor flood-affected and differently able farmer of Bordowatop locality in Marigaon district committed suicide on Sunday. The farmer, identified as Kamal Nath, reportedly hanged himself in a temporary camp set-up for flood-affected people of the locality.
