National Press day observed at Haflong


The National Press Day was observed at Haflong in the office premises of District Information & Public Relations Office today (Wednesday). This was organised by the District Information & Public Relations Officer, Haflong, Dima Hasao.


The day’s programme was initiated by Sri L. Joute, District Information & Public Relations Officer. All the media persons representing various print and electronic media were present in the meeting wherein Sri Anup Biswas, Correspondent, The Assam Tribune explained the significance of the Day and appealed all the press men to maintain the ethics of the journalism while they discharge their duties. He also requested to work unitedly with better understanding. Sri Surjya Thaosen, News Live, Haflong and Samsul Alom of Dy 365 put forward some suggestions for the betterment of the journalists working in the district.


Earlier, one minute silence was observed to honour the departed souls of journalists who left for their heavenly abode.
