Anwesha Book Fair concludes at Udalguri
The Udalguri Anwesha Book Fair concluded at Udalguri from February 10 to 12 at the Bishnu Rabha KristiSangha premises for three days. The book fair was inaugurated by Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi, general secretary of Asom Sahitya Sabha in a well attended meeting chaired by Thaneswar Malakar,Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district.
The three day book fair organised by Udalguri district journalists’ association in association with the Udalguri district administration featured with various competitions among the school going children and seminar on reading habit among the people.
Inaugurating the book fair, Dr. Rajbongshi praised the cosmopolitan society of Udalguri district which is now quite peaceful. He also hinted at holding the mega literary congregation of the premiere literary organization like Asam Sahitya Sabha in Udalguri provided that the people of Udalguri were ready to welcome the move. He also released “ Seujiya Kabita” the Assamese poetry book on eco centric theme authored by Rewati Raman Sapkota of Udalguri while PK Daimari, MCLA of BTC released ‘Sugandhi Kabita’, the mouthpiece of Udalguri Kavi Samaj. Thaneswar Malakar, DC of Udalguri released “Satsangar Subash” authored by octogenarian Chau Kanak Phukan of Udalguri.
Biswajit Das, staff reporter of Asomiya Khabar on the other hand released “ Prabhati Kiran”, a compilation of children based Assamese poetry book authored by Mrigen Kalita, a senior teacher of Udalguri Girls’ HS school. “ Granthakeet”, the souvenir of the book fair published by the Udalguri district administration was released by Biswajit Das on the occasion.
