5th Biennial conference of Nazira district Employees Council concludes

The 5th Biennial Conference of Nazira district Employees Council was held at Simaluguri Natya Mandir on February 18, with day-long programme. In the open session Bakhab Chandra Kolita, President, Nagen Das, Secretary General , All Assam Employees Council, Debobrata Saikia, MLA, Nazira, Prabin Kumar Sarma, Inspector of Schools, Sivasagar were present as special guests. The meeting was presided by Bidya Dutta, President, Nazira District Employees Council.

Dillibari Gaon Panchayat, under Tingkhong development block has laid the foundation stone of gravel road in the Amarjyoti Arandhara, the secretary general of Tai Ahom National Council on Monday at Ghahi Pathar, under MNREGA scheme. The total length of the road will be 6.5 kilometer and it will cost about 4 lakh. The second biennial conference of Me-Nang-Rai will be held on May 9-10 at Tai Cultural Development Centre, Tingrai, Tinsukia district. The organisation was established at " Kodomkakoi" of Lakhimpur district on May 9, 2010 in presence of central members of All Assam Poi-Phuralung for betterment of the Tai-Ahom women.
One Babul Gogoi (12) died in a mishap at Santak-Gorchuk, Simoluguri on Saturday. The mishap occured when the deceased was collecting money for a Bihu Sonmilon, organised locally at Kenduguri. The boy with his friends was collecting of money from vehicles plying on the Romoni Ali, which connects Simoluguri and Naginimora. When they tried to stop a dumper coming towards Simoluguri who refused to stop and the members tried to stop the vehicle forcefully. According to eye witness, the deceased climbed up on the vehicle to stop it. After runing few distance the vehicle slipped away from the road and the deceased came under the Vehicle and died on the spot.

Foundation stone of anti-erosion protection scheme at Dikhow river, near Achala Pathar-Dihingia Gaon, was laid down by Rajib Luson Pegu, Water Resource Minister of Assam. The total estimate for this scheme is Rs.6.80 crore.
