Encounter in Sivasagar: ULFA militant killed

Police claimed to have killed a hardcore ULFA militant at an encounter in Sibsagar district on Wednesday.

Acting on specific information, a joint team of police and CRPF's Black Cobra forces launched an operation at Namsai area on Tuesday mid-night and an encounter took place early on Wednesday morning. The ULFA
militant was killed on the spot and combing operations were on the area in search of other militants in the area.

The slain militant has been identified as Rabin Moran alias Habindra Moran.
