Bodies of two abducted teachers recovered

Sensation prevails in Goalpara district following the recovery of the dead bodies of the two abducted teachers at Kasumari near Krishnai today. It may be noted here that the two Teachers Kameswar Rabha and Sarit Rabha were abducted by suspected militants at around 6 pm on May 13 last from when they were returning home after conducting electoral census programme as BLO worker with their Discover bike (No. AS-18A-9914). They are reported to have gone missing from Dawaguri,along the Assam-Meghalaya border under Agia police station. After the abduction several organizations led by the All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU) protested against the alleged kidnnaping of the two members of Rabha community. Later more than ten organizations of the district including ARSU called Goalpara district bandh, burnt effigies of chief minister, education minister, Goalpara east MLA, DC and SP and blocked roads in protest against negligence on the part of the district administration as well as Assam Government to trace the abducted two persons.
