BJP submits memo to DC

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dima Hasao District submitted a memorandum with five points charter of demands to the Deputy Commissioner, Dima HasaoDistrict, Haflong on Tuesday (10.7.12) seeking his intervention and action thereafter.


The memorandum signed by Ms Banani Kemprai, Presidnent, Sri Chandra Sekhar Rao, Northeastern Region BJP incharge, Sri Ramkrishna Ghosh, National General Secretary, BJMM, etc. stated that in recent past the people of Dima Hasao district faced terrible havoc due to natural calamities, some of the people lost their lives and many of them incurred major property losses. In fact such unwanted natural calamities never occurred in Dima Hasao District, therefore, they humbly requested to intervene the matter by assessing the valuation of loss of 1 acre 1 lakh, lives, properties and compensate at the rate of Rs.l, 00,000/-(Rupees One lakh) minimum to the affected peoples and at least Rs.2, 00,000/-(Rupees Two lakhs) to the next to kin who lost their lives.


The employees under the Administrative control Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Haflong were facing immense hardship due to nonpayment of monthly salaries regularly.They requested to intervene the matter from the Administrative end to ensure payment of salaries to the Employees regularly.


The people of this district were not availing the PDS items due to non transparency of the system, hence to ensure strict and smooth functioning of PD System.


They observed that the Ruling party at Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has misused of funds sanctioned for development by indulging large scale corruption. In this connection they requested to check such malpractices for the greater interest of the people of this district.


They further demanded for immediate restoration and improvement of road communication particularly of Haflong Town as well as entire Dima Hasao District.

Blast at Goalpara at 7.10 pm on Sunday

Goalpara : There has been a blast at Agiya,in Goalpara districts at 7.10 PM. Three civilians have been injured. Police have rushed to the spot. ULFA is suspected to be behind the blast.

Bi-cycle & hundi distributed

A total of eighty beneficiaries from four districts of BTAD were given away bi-cycle & hundi (feed seed container) at ceremonially distribution function held at Meen Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.

Shyam Sundi, BTC executive member for Fishery department distributed bi-cycle & hundi under ‘Incentives to Fish Seed Traders’ scheme for the year 2015-16 to bringing awareness and encouragement among fish trading in the region.

Sundi said that the fish department was trying to bring green revolution through producing huge fishes to gain fish crops. He said that his department was working to uplift business aspect and pond development by involving citizens in the region so that peoples could be earns more livelihoods. He also said that fishery department has been checking breeding status of fishes to meet huge production of fishes.

Bar council suspends 3 lawyers

The Gauhati High Court Bar Council has suspended three lays at the fag-end of the impasse alleging violation of the organization’s rules and regulations.

The council on Friday suspended senior lawyers Bhaskar Dev Konwar, Benudhar Das and SS Dey who allegedly refused to stick to the council’s lines.

Before that a division bench of the court set up a special panel to look in to the allegations against the acting Chief Justice………….
