Saragaon Youths set example of good work

Nine youths of Saragaon , a sub-urban area of Raha Town have set an example of good work and send an inspiring message about youth works in their locality.

Having identified unemployment a major challenge and getting a government job is not a child's play the youths, Kulendu Bordoloi, Partha Pratim Kunwar, Abhijit Hazarika, Bitumoni Das, Jyoti Prasad Bordoloi, Kukima Deka , Popi Bora, Sumi Das and Barnali Deka have decided to establish a coaching centre under their NGO ‘Pratishruti..Ek Yatra’ at Saragaon High School situated in their village to help the aspirants educated youths of their village to crack different exams for government jobs.

These nine youths , all are from diversified jobs field, have given up the luxuries that their respective jobs could have given, and instead chosen a different path to bring about some changes in the life of many aspirants in their village who are struggling hard to get a government job.

These youths first enrolled themselves for coaching, and four of them secured government jobs within a year and five of them secured company jobs. They soon volunteered to train the unemployed youths in their area in an informal way, and providing free coaching on Maths, Science and English with an aim to help 20 young boys and girls to secure jobs in various government departments under ‘ Pratishruti….Ek Yatra ‘.

Kulendu Bordoloi, one of the core members of Pratishruti …Ek Yatra said to this correspondent , when asked about their vision, “ Our vision is to transform Saragaon,our village , to an ideal one and to improve the living standard of the people as most of the families are engaged to agriculture and farming here .”

Partha Pratim Kunwar, a founding member of the organization, said, “We can confidently say that today’s youth have a far more evolved sense of social responsibility. We actively seek to support causes that have the potential to bring about a positive change in the communities we live in. We realize that our village needs our help . Instead of accepting a comfortable life , we decided to start this coaching institute and help our village youths prepare either for government jobs or company jobs.”

Golap Chandra Nath, Headmaster, Saragaon High School and President, Assam High School Teachers’ Union, said ,” I feel the youth of today are far more conscious and aware of their responsibility towards society. The joy and satisfaction one gets from making a difference in people’s lives is priceless and no other experience can match it And this can sum up the many reasons why youngsters should do their bit for society. I appreciate the good work done by the youths of this village and wish their dream come true.”

Nagaon: The Nagaon police today apprehended a snatcher from Bhakatgaon bazar.    Identified as Bilal Uddin of Silongoni village , the apprehended person was involved in a snatching case under Sadar P S.    One hand made pistol was also recovered from the possession of the accused. Nagaon: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday announced a state-wide effigy burning protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the announcement of not declaring Assam flood as a ‘national issue’. Nagaon: The Chief Judicial Magistrate court Nagaon declared two witness namely Numal Basumatari and Ujjal Mesh of Abhi Neel case as hostile.
