Assam government on Friday has warned strict action against sale of salt at exorbitant price citing grim scarcity of the essential commodity. Talking to reporters in Dispur on Friday food and civil supply minister Dr Nazrul Islam said that the state has sufficient stock of salt for the next 6 months. He said that those claiming rate more than Rs 10 per kg must face stern action. Meanwhile, over 20 salt retailers have been arrested for selling salt at an exorbitant rate.
