Army organised blood donation camp at Tangla

A blood donation camp was organised by Army camp Udalguri of the Red Horns Division and Vision and Innovation Society, a NGO at Tangla on January 22 . A team of doctors from Mangaldai Civil Hospital extended a helping hand in organizing the camp. The initiative taken by both the NGO and Army for organizing such a camp was praised by all. Volunteers from all caste, creed and ethnic communities participated on a large scale for this noble cause. The camp in its true sense portrayed unity in diversity, the foundation on which democracy of our country stands today.

In another noble mission the men in green of Red Horns Division stationed in the district set up a Vocational Training Center (VTC) at Khagrabari in Bhergaon sub-division on January 17.The main aim was not just an augmentation of the family income ,over and above empower the local population. “A self reliant, economically independent society enhances its outlook itself, improves the standard of living, social status and above all self esteem”,so said the commanding officer while inaugurating the VTC in presence of hundreds of villagers.The Vocational Training Centre plans giving training mainly in candle making, carpentry and welding. It has a computer project also to train the village youths.It has a view of expansion. The programme was launched under “Operation Sadbhavna Project".
