Amid stalemate over the Rajya Sabha candidates, Congress high command is all set to field a New Delhi based political leader to one of the seats.  

Top sources told Assam Times that Congress president Sonia Gandhi wants former MP Sanjay Singh’s election to the Rajya Sabha.

A circle of powerful AICC leaders has arrived in Guwahati convince chief minister Tarun Gogoi and APCC president Bhubneswar Kalita.

Singh is likely to file nominations on Monday afternoon. But the party has yet to finalise the remaining candidate even after allowing BPF to contest for one of the seats.
