Amid simmering controversy over the ongoing process to update NRC, the Supreme Court will review the implementation of the progress to update NRC on July.
A division bench of Justice Ranjan Gogoi will review the progress of the project considering a set of fresh applications by Dispur.
Former minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to move two plea in the court for consideration.
On the other hand, health minister Nazrul Islam hoped that the Supreme Court will extend the last date for filing of forms and documents.
Talking to reporters at the GMCH premises on Sunday, the health minister said the country’s top court would consider the difficulties faced by the people in filing the forms.
“The court can consider the schedule in view of the difficulties we are facing,” said Dr Islam.
