Elephant terror in Udalguri

A herd of wild elephants unleashed no less of terror in Borengajuli Tea Estate in Tangla killing a 35 year old man on Monday. 

Identified as ArjunMunda, son of BirshaMunda was trampled to death early in the Sunday morning as he was collecting twigs.

NDFB-S militant held in Chirang

Security forces claimed to have captured a hardcore cadre of NDFB-S militant in Chirang district on Monday. 

Swmkwr Mushahary alias Serfang the militant was held during a joint operation in Bamungaon area near Sidli in the evening. He was trained up in Myanmar who returned to the state in March only. 

A 7.65 pistol, two round live bullets were recovered from his possession.

The Aam Admi Party has announced the list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in Assam.

The party has fielded Manoram Gogoi in Jorhat while Tapan Sudbanshi will contest from Dibrugarh.

In Guwahati, the party has fielded Pranjal Bordoloi while Hiramoni Deka Sonowal will contest from Lakhimpur.

Annanya Sarmah, an assamese beauty reached among 13 finalist in Femina Miss India final this year. 24-year-old Annanya is the only finalist from Northeast. The 50th edition Femina Miss India final 2013 will be held on March 24 in Mumbai. Hailed from Dibrugarh, Annanya finished her schooling from Assam Valley School, graduation from Xavier's College Kolkata and masters from University of Westminster.
