Kazi Najarul Jayanti at Haflong

To commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Rebel Poet Kazi Najarul Islam, the ‘Bangiya Sanskriti Parshad’(BSP) a literary and Cultural organization of Haflong organized cultural function at Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong on August 28th and 31st.

On August 28th, the organizational flag was hoisted by Sri Biswajeet Chakraborty, working president BSP followed by chorus song. This was followed by Nazrul song and dance competition, wherein hundreds of participants take part.

On 31st at 6 PM, Sri Hamjanan Langthasa, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council attending the function as the chief guest inaugurated the days program by lighting the holy lamp.

All the VIPs and the invited guests were felicitated with ‘Uttariya’ by the members of BSP.

Then the invited guests gave away the prizes to successful participants of the competition held o August 28th.

This is followed by felicitation of all the Editors, Camerapersons and correspondents of various channels and dailies working in Dima Hasao District. The BSP also felicitated two journalists came from Silchar.

The First ‘Bhagini Geetanjali Saraswata Sanman-2011’ sponsored by Sri Jagannath Chakraborty was given to Sri Anup Biswas, Correspondent, The Assam Tribune, News Time Assam, etc. for his relentless efforts in the field of journalism in Dima Hsao District.

Sri P. S. Chowdhury, a noted educationist of the district in his speech appreciated the organizer for their untiring efforts in promotion of culture and literacy in this district.

Sri Hamjanan Langthasa, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council in his speech appealed to the people of the district to follow the footprints of rebel poet Nazrul Islam .

The one day Dwitiya  Sopan Testing camp organized by the  Kendriya Vidyalaya, Haflong   from 7 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
