Akhil's protest resembles Maoist tactics, says Tarun Gogoi

Assam’s hatric Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, at a press conference on Tuesday said that Akhil Gogoi's protest on 22nd June, against eviction drive resembles to maoist tactics and this was evident from the fact that the protestors were carrying sticks and stone on their hands. Though the Chief Minister didn’t link directly Akhil Gogoi to the maoist, he did say that there are members in the Krisak Mukti Sangram Samity organization having maoist links. He had referred about two persons that were arrested last year.

It is time to make sure that while on protest carrying sticks in hands will resemble a maoist protest. Thus anywhere in the world if protestors clash with the police and if a crazy protestor takes a stick in anger and damage public property then he is a Maoist. So in Assam we had seen a lot of maoist. In the last Assam Bandh, called by KMSS, we have seen Congress supportes acting maoist, forcing the shops to open, breaking the locks, and brandishing their lathis to threaten the KMSS supporters. I believe KMSS supporters did not at any point of time threatened the public to support for their cause; instead people had willingly supported the KMSS on various social issues. But for Tarun Gogoi, supporting KMSS means thinking Maoist. But supporting for Congress are good Maoists and rest are ugly Maoists. And so now may we have to take permission from the government as to what political ideology should we support, or can we read about Maoism in school and colleges.

Whatever may be, now basking in the glory of recent election result, Tarun Gogoi is least bothered about any opposition, be it from the media or from Akhil Gogoi “After all the people will vote for me” he says. Thanks to the great opposition of the state.
