Uneasy calm in poll meet

An uneasy situation prevailed in Jorhat during a Congress poll rally on Saturday.

Local residents in large number assaulted a traffic policeman after a road mishap near the Bhugdoi bridge at a stone’s throw distance from the poll rally attended by APCC president Bhubneswar Kalita. The local residents further threatened to eliminate the ruling party before they were dispersed by police.
