Whip to deal with Cong dissidence

In a bid to get rid of any dissidence in the upcoming Assam Assembly session, Congress will issue a three-line whip to its members in a day or two.

Sources told Assam Times that chief whip Nilomoni Sendeka will issue the whip in the CLP meeting slated for Sunday to ensure that every ruling party legislator is present in the House for smooth passage of bills and the budget.

Any legislator violating the whip would be liable to face strict disciplinary action such as expulsion and disqualification.
