Flood fury worsens on Monday as more and more areas in several districts have come under the surging waters.
The Brahmaputra and its tributaries have been flowing above the danger level. The water levels are likely to rise following the incessant rains in Arunachal Pradesh during the last 48 hours.
The death toll has gone up to 7 with two more deaths in Morigaon apart from one each in Lakhimpur, Dhubri, Nalbari, Golaghat and Barpeta.
The 15 flood hit districts are Dhemaji, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, Kamrup, Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Karbi Anglong have been affected by the flood.
Over 4.14 lakh people have been affected covering 1,066 villages. 90,867 hectare of cropland has been affected. //
