The Union cabinet on Wednesday cleared the proposal to set up the proposed AIIMS in the outskirt of Guwahati triggering huge protest in Raha where the local residents are staging road blockade on the National Highway No 37. The Hamren police in Karbi Anglong on Tuesday have arrested a titular Karbi king acting on a rape charge against him. The victim is a mother of four children whom he raped before asking her not to disclose.
