An eerie silence prevails in Ratanpur village in Uriamghat along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district a day after a cultivator was killed and 4 others sustained injury in miscreant firing.
But nobody is coming out of the relief camps to the paddy field fearing fresh attempt to monger border flare up. A section of the camp inmates have been urging the authorities to ensure their safety even at the paddy field.
Security forces are patrolling in the entire area to thwart any fresh attempt by the miscreants from Nagaland territory who indiscriminately fired upon a group of villagers who were cutting crops in the paddy field.
A seriously injured villager died in the hospital while our others have been battling for life at the Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. Three of them where identified as Julius Kujur, Momita Kujur and Babita Kujur. Five others who were missing after the shoot out are coming back to the relief camps one after another.
