After days of will-it-won’t-it, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday summoned Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to be quizzed in the Saradha scam. The former cabinet minister received the summon on Thursday to appear before the CBI office located at Salt Lake in Kolkata on Friday.
Dr Sarma, whom CBI raided in August in this connection would be questioned by the special crime branch of the premier investigation agency acting on Saradha boss Sudipto Sen’s purported letter where he claimed to have paid crores of rupees to Dr Sarma in Guwahati along with Shankar Baruah who committed suicide after being raided. Sadananda Gogoi whom CBI arrested two months back played the crucial role in the understanding between Dr Sarma and Sen.
Earlier, CBI raided Dr Sarma’s house in Guwahatialong with Newslive owned by his wife.
