The All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) is launching a series of fresh stirs from Saturday raising the old demands which have yet to be met.
On Saturday, AASAA activists will gherao MLAs, MPs and ministers in the state alleging complete indifference.
AASAA leaders told Assam Times in Dibrugarh that over the last few years they have only got promises only to woo the voters. But the government has done precious little. They said that the demanding for Rs 330 daily wage is yet to be met for the tea garden workers.
They said that the people in power often take resort to a wage advisory committee to look into the case only to wash their hands off.
On Saturday, they will further gherao the branch offices of the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha and also burn the latest wage agreement papers.
On Sunday they would burn the effigies of both the Chief Minister and MGVK Bhanu alleging their failure.
Apart from it, the AASAA activists would gherao the houses of MLAs, MPs and Ministers on March 24.
