Bodofa UN Brahma remembered
The All Bodo Students Union and UN BrahmaTrust (UNBT) remembered contribution of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the students union on his 59th birth anniversary today at Tulungapuri, Dotma in Kokrajhar.
Irrespective of community leaders, students, student union leaders including Promod Boro, president of Absu, Sameswar Brahma , elder brother of Bodofa,Krishna Gopal Basumatary, Director of UN Academy, Pradip Kumar Brahma, Mla,BTC member Indra Mahan Brahma paid rich floral tribute to late Brahma and prayed for eaternal peace of Brahma's soul.
Promod Boro said that Bodofa was a great leader of Bodo and other downtrodden communities in the region . He said that the students union will keep alive if ideology and philosophy of Bodofa who had contributed lots towards building healthy of integration among various communities. He said that students union has been organising his anniversary every year as Students Day on March 31 to mark his birth anniversary. He said Bodofa had dreamt a master race of Bodos in the world and worked for upliftment of the society till his last breath.
An open meeting was also held on the occasion . Prof Ajit Boro, Prof Berlao K Karjee graced the meeting and addressed.

Noted Bodo singer, lyric and social worker Phanindra Nath Brahma (Phani Serja) died at a private hospital in Siliguri after prolong illness on Friday. He was 71. Brahma was suffering from diabetes, knee injury and was admitted to the hospital. Brahma was a retired teacher and was associated with various social activities. Security forces on Thursday vowed to firmly deal with the militants hiding in Kokrajahar district. Talking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Thursday, SP Shyamal Prasad Saikia and Rajput Regiment officer Col IP Singh said they have stepped out counter insurgency operation in the BTAD district.
