Absu to relaunch Bodoland movement
The All Bodo Students Union ( ABSU) has reiterated to relaunch of Bodoland movement demanding long pending separate Bodoland state which was a dream of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the students union.
The Absu observed 25th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at Tulungapuri Dotma today with daylong programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.
Sameswar Brahma, elder of the Bodofa UN Brahma paid floral tribute to Brahma following Promod Boro, president of Absu, UG Brahma, ex MP, Pramila Rani Brahma, Pradip Kumar Brahma MLAs, BTC executive memver Daneswar Goywry, Rwngwra Narzary, Jatirindra Brahma, BTC MCLA, leaders from various organisation like Bodo sahitya sabha, students from various schools paid homage.
An all religious mass prayer and rally was also carried out on the occasion to mark the occasion observation involving students from Dotma to Boragari village, birth place of UN Brahma.
Promod Boro, president of the students Union said that the movement for separate Bodoland state would be relaunched within short span of periods as student union suspended foe little year. He has alleged that the government has not been initiated to solve long standing demand of Bodoland issue, though present BJP led NDA Govt promised during their election manifest.
He has demanded early solution of Bodoland issues to gain all round development of all caste and communities in the region.
He has recalled contribution of Bodofa Brahma towards upliftment of Bodo and other down trodden communities in the country and the students Union will keep alive of ideology and philosophy of UN Brahma so that generations can get healthy integration.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday. Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
