Agril seeds distributed among farmers

Agriculture department distributed certified HYV Rice seed Swarna Sub-1 variety under National Food Security Mission (NFSM) Rice, 2015-16 among farmers at a function held at Agriculture training hall in Kokrajhar today. 

Former Assam minister and local MLA of Kokrajhar east Pramila Rani Brahma, BTC Principal Secretary AK Roy distributed the seeds among farmers of the district. 

The agriculture department distributed 1177 qwintols of  Swarna Sub-1  variety rice seeds among farmers to facilitate crops which  will cover up around 8 thousand farmers in  the district.

The department also decided to distribute 120 quintol variety of Swarna Sub-1 under three demonstration and 20 qwintols of hybrid variety of DRRH-2 covering 100 hactors cluster demonstration in the district. 

Brahma has urged the farmers to be dedicated more to product more crops on the district and sufficient rice. 

Among others, JB Brahma, director of Agriculture was also present on the occasion.
