The Gauhati High Court has asked the Assam Public Service Commission to submit the details of the last civil service examination conducted to select candidates for ACS, APS and allied services.
Admitting a PIL by Akhil Gogoi on Thursday, a division bench of the court issued the directive to the commission asking to submit the details of the marks on August 10, obtained by the candidates in the controversial examination. The court will hear the PIL on August 14.
It further asked the chief secretary to clear its position on the same day. Notably, the KMSS leader moved the court alleging rampant corruption in the selection of candidates for ACS, APS and allied services.
He accused sitting chairman Rakesh Paul of resorting to bribery for selecting a section of candidates where the eligible candidates were deprived.
He targeted chief minister Tarun Gogoi for allowing Paul to ravage APSC with corruption. In his PIL, Gogoi sought court’s intervention against the state public service commission and cancellation of the selected candidates in question.
