Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju on Friday got tougher with the north east militants saying that the Centre will not talk to them unless and until they eschew the path of violence.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Friday, he said that the government will never tolerate petty criminals forming a group to extort money from the innocent people.
“Petty criminal act will not be tolerated where few people coming together and forming a group to engage themselves in ransom kidnapping and bullying people around this will not be tolerated,” he said.
“We appeal to all of them who have been deviated from the main stream, who have taken up arms if those people wants to come back to the main stream the first and the foremost things they have to do is lay the arms, you have to adjourned violence,” the Minister said.
“We will not talk to any body who is indulged in any kind of violence,” he said.
