The nine dissident Congress MLAs have yet to ascertain their future course of action even after they initially agreed to join BJP. They have neither moved the state leadership for formally joining the party nor in touch with the Congress leadership for homecoming.
But they have not moved the assembly Speaker to resign as MLA like Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma who formally resigned as Jalukbari MLA.
“The state BJP leadership have nothing to say against them. But nobody can assure them of tickets to contest the polls. This is much to the major disappointment of the Congress MLAs who earlier agreed to join the party as they met Amit Shah in New Delhi at the initiative of Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma,” said a senior BJP leader.
The Congress leadership are firm on the stern action against these MLAs who met Amit Shah in New Delhi.
