AGP observes Foundation Day

The Asom Gana Parishad observed its 30th Foundation Day across the state on Wednesday. The central function took in Golaghat in presence of all top leaders. Amid a pall of gloom following the recent demise of Prabin Gogoi, the party flag remained half mast.

On this day in 1985, the regional party was born at a huge conclave in Golaghat to take on Congress after the tripartite Assam Accord was signed. In his address, party president Atul Bora said,”our party will be able to put up a good performance in the upcoming Assembly election. We are trying our best to regain our strength. We are preparing for a brave fight against Congress and BJP.”

The party leaders condoled the death of Prabin Gogoi before proceeding to begin the foundation day session.
