Incentive to brilliant students in BTC
Altogether five brilliant students who secured positions in the last HSLC and HS examinations for the year 2014 & 2015 were felicitated and handed over cheque amounting Rs 2 lakhs each by the Director of Education, BTC .
BTC deputy chief, handed over the cheques at his office chamber at the BTC Secretariat in Kokrajhar today.
Among the students receiving the cheques are Hriday Jyoti Ojha from National Pioneer College, Tangla of Ualguri, who stood 5th position in the HS in 2014, Ashim Majumdar of St John’s HS school, Barama of Baksa who stood 4th position in the HSLC in 2015, Bibekajyoti Boro of Sankardev Vidyaneketan, Tamulpur in Baksa, 10 position in the HSLC in 2015, Aithjhya Bhaduri and Priyasa Kundu, both of Bongaigaon Refinery HS school, Dhaligaon in Chirang and secured 5th and 8th position respectively in the HSLC 2015.
Borgoyary said that the BTC authority was working to encourage the students to work hard and council will be giving helping hand to brilliant students who are aspired tithe good career in their higher studies. He said 18 students from the Bodoland region who have been selected and got admitted in the IIT and IIM will also be given the incentive for their higher studies.
Borgoyary also said that BTC authority will give scholarships to 25-30 brilliant students preparing for UPSC examination from the region.

A free health check-up camp was organized by MRM Memorial Hospital, a private managed hospital at Debargaon community hall on Sunday in Kokrajhar.

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary urges to maintain peace and harmony among all section of society as there is apprehension of mistrust in the aftermath of election.
Mohilary has convened a meeting with the intellectuals and senior citizens on Friday at PWD Guest House at Kokrajhar to discuss the situation about the growing mistrust among the Bodos and non-Bodos pertaining to the election.
“Election is over and now it’s the time to work for the development of BTAD”, he said.

Police arrested four youths for involving with stolen of computers from Dhawliguri ITI,Kokrajhar which was recovered on Wednesday from North Shukanjhora under Kokrajhar police station.
The computers of the ITI were stolen by thefts on last May 7 and the concern office had lodged an FIR with police and investing the incident police manage to apprehend the involved culprits on Thursday, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.
The youths have been identified as Ranjit Narzary,KwrwmdaoNarzary,Swmbla Narzary and Gurdo Boro of North Shukanjhora.

An IED weighing of around 4 kgs was recovered from Jadumani village under Fakiragram police station late last night, a day ahead of parliamentary election result counting tomorrow in Kokrajhar. Police said that getting tiptop information about the IED police raided the area and recovered the IED last night wee hour from a house. Police arrested two persons identified as Kripa Roy and Jayanta Roy for involving keeping with IED which was kept by KLO militants.
