Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi alleged before prime minister Narendra Modi gross injustice hours after he staged dharna in front of Parliament striking nationwide attention of his charges.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Wednesday, Gogoi claimed to have apprised Modi of his grievances for not getting due care and attention from the Centre.
"Modi assured me of special package to Assam along with other backward states," said Gogoi.
The chief minister said that he brought to the notice of the Prime Minister the delayed dispatch of the central team to the state to assess the post flood scene. "Flood waves wreaked havoc in July and August and see the Central team arrived in the state only a couple of days," he said.
Gogoi said "I further apprised Modi of the injustice in terms of crude royalty for Assam. Gujarat got the hiked amount only after the state moved the court. I did not move the court so I am not getting the hike amount. This is the state of affairs."
He reiterated that Congress will go it alone in the assembly polls.
