BP unified with BPF

In a well gesture of party strength of BPF ahead assembly election in Bodoland region of Assam, a grand unification of BPPF with BPF under the leadership of Rabiram Narzary, president of BPPF was held on SUnday at Tulungapuri Dotma if Lower Assam's Kokrajhar district. 

Narzary, was accompanied party general secretary and thousands of party activists and supporters, declared party's unified with BPF to create more development and unity among society in the region.  He said that his party come into unified to meet healthy and integrated through working of peace and prosperity. 

Hagrama Mohilary, BPF supremo and BTC chief, party MP, MLA, senior party leaders were also present on the unification function. 

It is to be noted that both Narzary and Mohilary factionised in BPPF and BPF party in 2005 after signing historical Bodo Accord in 2003. 

Mohilary has welcome Rabiram Narzary and party members in the meeting said that now his party become a grand unified. He also said that his party will score good result in the assembly election

Opposition demands increase of MCLA fund

Opposition members in BTC Legislative Assembly demanded increase of Member of Council Legislative Assembly Area Development fund(MCLAAD) to gain more development of the constituencies in the council to Rs.50 lakh from existing Rs.20 lakhs.While,BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary,who is also in-charge of Finance department told that the council has no any position to increase the MCLA area development fund as council has not been getting sufficient fund from state government on population pattern and can’t provide huge fund to the MCLAs in the council. Mohilary presents BTC budget

2 injured in army assault

Teachers to protest

Bandh affected normal life in Kokrajhar

Normal life was affected following 24 hours Assam bandh called by Biswajit Ray faction of AKRSU   demanding ST status to the Koch Rajbingshi community and separate Kamatapur state today in Kokrajhar. All kinds of road transport communication,business institutions like bazaar, market, shop, bank remained closed, besides the road of the town also looked deserted on the day. Congressmen join BPF

The ruling BPF party has termed that congress has lost its mass based in BTC as party could not open any account in recent concluded council election. Over 500 Congressmen including Assembly segment president, block mondal leaders and gaonburahs joined the BPF party at a programme held at Chitila community hall under Kokrajhar West LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. Former MLA and senior BPF leader told that Congressmen joined the BPF party keeping new expectation of social upliftment as BPF party retained the council for third consecutive terms. RMC conference concluded

Toll gate attacked in Chirang

Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) activists today attacked a toll gate at Dahalapara along the 31 c national highway under Bijni subdivision of Chirang district.According to sources said around a hundred KMSS activists and locals attacked and damaged the toll gate which is run by a Mumbai based Indradeep Construction Company, seven persons said to be money collectors at the toll gate were injured in the attack, besides 25 computers, 35 CCTV were damaged in the attacked.Conflict was going on in a toll gate on National Highway in the state since it was installed in many parts with angry public demanding lifting of the toll gate. One died in thunderstorm

One person identified as  Bhenda Sutradhar, 46 of Bangaldoba Sutradharbasti  in Kokrajhar died when lightning struck him this evening around 4.30 pm. Two cattles in the area also died in the lightning, sources said.Thunder storms with heavy rains lashes many parts of Kokrakhar since today damaging houses and uprooting today.The tin roof of Haloadol ME School in Kokrajhar was blown half a kilometer away in the storm damaging mid-day meal food stored in the school building and study materials. The storm also damaged several houses and uprooted trees in the area.
