Muslims across the town observed, ‘Shab-e-Qadr’, the night of power, on Saturday. Also known as ‘Lailatul-Qadr’, the event is observed on the 27 day of Ramzan. The night is considered auspicious as ‘Quran’ was revealed to Prophet Mohammed. Devotees turned in large numbers at the special prayers and sermons organised at Tangla Bara Masjid and Banseria Masjid in the town. Among the nights of Ramadan it is one special night, which is better than a thousand months as believed in Islam. Laylatul Qadr is a celebration to commemorate the arrival of the final guidance for humans. It is a tribute to the commencement of the message revealed to mankind by their Creator, a message which shows them the way to achieve happiness in both the worlds.
