Daloabari TE beat Karigaon Joypur
Chef Minister’s Cup Inter Tea Garden football championship for Kokrajhar zonal has been kicked off from Friday at Magurmari ground in Kokrajhar district.
Daloabari Tea Garden won defeating Karigaon Joypur ex-Tea Garden 6-0 in the inaugural match.For Daloabari,Suban Singh scored two goals( 5minutes &10minutes,Justin Dhanowar(54minutes),Karshel Lakra(55minutes), Amgilon Ekka(59minutes) and Kamal Kajur(60minutes) scored one each goal.
Doneswar Goyary, BTC executive member inaugurated the football championship attending as chief guest.
A total of 10 teams from Kokrajhar,Chirang,Bongaigaon and Goalpara districts are participating the championship. Final match of the zonal would be held on September 16 next and championship team be sent for inter zonal championship.
Rabiram Narzary, MLA Kokrajhar west and chairman of organizing committee told that the championship has been organized to haunt sports talents among tea gardens across the state. The government has been stressing to uplift sporting arena so that tea estates’ youths be come forward to the sports field, Narzary added.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. The award includes a citation, traditional Aronai, and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh. The festival also featured a Hills trekking competition and traditional food showcase competition.
