Assam Regimental Centre ,Shillong beat Football Academy, Dhupdhara by 4-0 in the inagural match of 21 st Bodoland Gallants Gold Cup Tournament which has been organised by Dimakuchi Anchalik ABSU and Dimakuchi Sports Association in the Dimakuchi Stadium from Sunday.
N Rakesh of Assam Regimental Centre score two goals in 3 and 9 minutes of the first half of the match.Again H. Vijesh of Assam Regimental Centre score another goal at 22 minutes of the first half of the mach.C Lalmohan Sangma score a goal in the second half of the match in 12 minutes against Football Academy Dhupdhara.

Freedom fighter, social worker and a cultivator Ratneswar Sarma passed away on Saturday at his own residence at Borakhat village on the outskirts of Tangla.He was 104. Born at 1912 in Byampara village near Sipajhar of Darrang district to Ratikanta Sarma and Radhika Devi. He migrated to Borakhat area of undivided Darrang district and present Udalguri district in 1932. Along with his profession of farming he actively participated in the country's freedom struggle and later rendered himself to the cause of the society. A person allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of Rangapara-Rangia passenger train at Purandia on the outskirts of Tangla at about 10 pm. The deceased has been identified as Kushal Bania (25). His head was beheaded in the incident. Reportedly he was depressed due to personal issues. He is a resident of Ratanpur village under Tangla PS.
