Frienship Day for a cause with cancer patients

The other day this correspondent received a call from the popular RJ Mandira of BIG 92.7 FM for coverage of Friendship day program at B. Barooah Cancer Institute as BIG 92.7 FM and BBCI celebrates the Spirit of World Friendship Day. It was a real treat for the curing cancer patients and attendants and the doctors, nurses and staff of B. Barooah Cancer Institute.

The agenda began with RJ Mandira popular as Mandy and fastest fast Radio Jockey of the city on behalf of the organizers welcoming the guests and the house. She spoke widely on friend and Friendship Day. Mandy is also a Ph.D. student in Gauhati University on human relations, nuclear and joint family. Later RJ Hansraj, the single piece of BIG FM joined in with Mandira to start off the big celebration. Dr. A C Kotoky Director, BBCI, Minoti Borthakur Cancer activist, Bhanu Rashmi acclaimed actress and chief instructor of Tejeshwani along with other oncologists were felicitated. In a game show "Jodi Moi Prashna Koru" Hansraj threw questions amongst the audience. Attendants, doctors, patients answered and won gift hampers. An elated prize winner exclaimed that it is the 1st prize “I have ever won and I would preserve it as a token of Friendship Day love from BIG FM”. Curing cancer patients were asked to speak about their experience in the hospital, their relation with the doctors. Notably most of the curing patients had stayed back in the hospital for more than 6 months and they by far had developed good relationship with the doctors. A cancer patient from Mangoldoi who is undergoing treatment over 13 months spoke at length his heart out during the program. He thanked Big FM for giving him an opportunity to thank the doctor no. 26 - Dr. Yashmin, the one who treated him.

Students of Tejeshwani enthralled the audience with their fabulous classical dance. Popular amongst the love buds and housewives RJ Sujita made the audience speechless with her melody of the voice wrapped in a white Italian churidaar. She asked the doctors to narrate their happiest moments of the life as well to perform any activity that could give his patients a reason to smile. Doctors too emotionally narrated success stories of the past and about patients who now were more than friends while tears rolled down their cheeks. Doctors sang, cracked jokes and played games. RJ Nirmali, the surprise pack of BIG FM, brought on to stage anyone from the many and asked him to do his best he can to enthrall the people around in a program titled "Jhakot Jilika Huwa, Khuje Khuje Aaguwai Juwa". "Suno Sunao Life Banao" the punchline of BIG FM rightly means said Dr. Kotoky in his deliberation and thanked BIG FM crew for holding World Friendship Day for a noble cause. Representatives of the sponsors also attended the function. All present till the end were given friendship bands.
