Zaraguri beat Bongaigaon

Zaraguri GBF, Gossaigaon beat Bongaigaon Star XI 9-8 via tie breaker shot in the Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship on Thuesday  evening at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.

Both the team played goalless in the match,later organisers decided for tie-breaker shot where Zaraguri beat Bongaigaon 9-8.

Burning Bihali: judge not spared

Tension seems to have been escalating further in Sonitpur on Sunday a day after 4 more bodies of missing villagers were found.

Apprehending breakdown in law and order situation, the district administration has clamped curfew in Borgang and Bedeti areas after protesters clashed with police in the afternoon.

The clash broke out when police tried to disperse thousands of people who blocked the roads leading to Arunachal Pradesh in protest against the failure to arrest the Chaudhuwa massacre.

The protesters set on fire Arunachal Pradesh bound vehicles of security forces. Even they did not spare the vehicle of a judge who was on his way to work place.   

Then police resorted to lathichage, tear gas and blank firing to disperse the protestors.

Notably, at least 15 villagers were killed by miscreants in Arunachal Pradesh in Chauldhuwa reserve forest on January 28. Eleven bodies were recovered in the forest and the state government assured the protestors of steps to bring the culprits to book. But that has not happened. Four bodies were recovered on Saturday to ignited the anger against the neighbouring state.

Guwahati: A powerful bomb that explodes in the city on Saturday morning leaves four people dead besides more than twenty injured.

he explosion took place at Machkhowa and that too in front of a mosque at a daily vegetable market at around 7-30 am. All those killed in the explosion are pedestrians.

Immediately after the explosion, top ranked police and civil administration officials arrived in the spot and investigation is going on.

The injured were admitted to the nearby hospital.

No one has so far been rounded up in the city. Details are awaited.
