A special lecture exchange programme was held at conference hall premises of Tangla College on Tuesday. The programme was organised by Dept. of Political Science and Dept. of History in collaboration of the IQAC cell of the college. Various phases of Indian freedom movement, the martyrs and national heroes who sacrificed their life for the sake of nation we discussed in the prgramme. From Sepoy mutiny, Battle of Plassey, birth of Indian National Congress (INC ) all the important events of freedom movement were highlighted.

Prof. Abdul Karim Associate Professor Dept. of History and Dr. Nurul Islam HOD Dept of Pol. Science of Kharupetia College graced the event as resource persons. The programme was presided over by Chandan Baruah.

Udalguri:  A court in Udalguri has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Sahid Jamal in Kalaigaon. District and Sessions Judge N. Senabaya Deori pronounced the verdict on June 20, convicting Tomser Ali, Md. Lal Miah, Md. Aibar Ali, Badsa Mondal, and Gajibur Rahman. Udalguri: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam saw a significant turnout, with 72.99% of eligible voters casting their ballots across the Darrang-Udalguri Parliamentary Constituency.
