Daily newsletters, published by the organizers of 30th Guwahati Book Fair at Chandmari AEI field, started greeting the visitors since the second day of its inauguration on 30 December 2016. Organized by Publication Board Assam the annual book festival attracts thousands of visitors from different parts of the country. Book lovers throng at various stalls, erected by the established publishers from various south Asian nations, turning the venue into one of the happening places in far eastern part of the glorious country.
For the first time, the organizers have facilitated wifi connection at the venue for the benefit of the visitors. Moreover an ATM has also been stalled for smooth monetary transactions in the 12-day book carnival. Regular discussion and evening cultural programs have been organized for the entertainment of the bookworms.
Titled as Granthamela, the daily newsletter contains regular news related to the festival as well as commentaries & personal feelings of serious appreciators of books, advance program schedules with other relevant information. Edited by the publication board secretary Pramod Kalita, the newsletters are being distributed among the visitors who arrive at the location to rediscover the books at the days of internet.
