BPF CWC meet in Kokrajhar

The ruling Bodoland Peoples’ Front(BPF) party holds its Central Working Committee(CWC) meeting at Bodofa Cultural Complex on Saturday in Kokrajhar to discuss about celebration of 15th Bodoland Day on February 10 and party activity affairs in the state.Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is attending as chief guest on the Bodoland Day celebration.

BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary,who is also BTC chief after the party CWC meeting told that his party discussed about the celebration of Bodoland Day on February 10 next(the historic Bodo Accord Day) with befitting programme scheduled at BTC Secretariat ground Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar. BPF party is fully prepared to celebrate the Bodo Accord Day as Bodoland Day, in which Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is attending as chief guest,said Mohilary.

He said that all kinds of preparations are in full swing to mark the day with thronging more 50,000 publics gathering on the occasion from different parts of the council.He told that a convenor committee for the minority cell of the party was formed with Afjal Haque Sarkar,former BTC MCLA as chairman and Mominur Islam,BTC MCLA as secretary in the party CWC meeting.

He said that most of the clauses of the Bodo Accord are implemented so far,like inclusion of Bodo Kochary into ST hills status in Karbi Anglong,only declaration is left. ‘BTC administration was working for the all round development of the region with making speedy uplift of all sections of communities’,he said.

On the question about gold medalist archer Buli Basumatary, Mohilary said that BTC administration had given a job in few years back,but she quitted the job. He said that only media are highlighting her street vendor life in the region.

‘We gave her a government job recognising her a good sports person in the region,but she quitted it’,Mohilary said.

Police arrested three persons in connection with the missing of college student Ashinta Basumatary alias Ola, who went missing from his house at East Maligaon in Kokrajhar, since April 22; on the other hand, accused woman for witch left her village to get rid of atrocities and threatens from the situation in the area. Member of a family accused of practicing black magic went missing since 22 April last at East Maligaon village in Kokrajhar district. The family member suspects foul play and filed a FIR at Kokrajhar police station on Thursday.
